How to Tie a Bristol Knot
The low-profile Bristol Knot provides an ideal line-to-leader connection. The low-profile Bristol Knot's strength makes it ideal for joining a heavier leader to the double line of a Bimini Twist, Spider Hitch or similar loop knot. The Bristol, also known as the "no-name" knot, is easy to tie and a preferred connection for longer, stronger leaders with spinning and casting tackle. With a Bristol Knot tied to the end of a double-line formed from a loop knot, the line and leader slip easily through rod guides. This knot is especially effective when tying a fluorocarbon leader to a braided double-line loop.
